SENCO and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
I joined Ashridge in 2019 having worked in early years settings since 2004 including working for 5 years supporting children with special educational needs. I love working in early years as no day is the same and I believe helping children grow and develop ready for school is one of the most rewarding jobs you could have! I enjoy being outdoors and spend lots of my spare time getting out for long woodland walks with my family, cycling and running. In 2019 I was lucky enough to secure a place in the Virgin London Marathon and completed it just 2 weeks after running Brighton marathon too.
Deputy Nursery Manager
Designated Safeguarding Lead
I joined Ashridge in 2006 working 1 day a week while I studied for my level 3. Since then I’ve studied with the Open University and gained my Level 4 qualification too.
It’s great working with children, especially watching them develop and knowing that you have had some part in that. I love hearing the little comments they say to make me laugh, which I take home with me!
I live with my husband and Doris the Pug who is now my baby as my children are grown up and have left home. My time is spent walking Doris, baking and cooking. I love spending time travelling and holidaying with my family including some special trips with my Mum and Dad.
Nursery Administration Manager
I have worked at Ashridge Nursery for over 9 years. Before that I took a career break to be with my children after many years as a Training consultant and Training Manager for a Global IT company.
I live locally with my husband and 2 teenage children. I enjoy dancing, love watching Strictly Come Dancing and am a keen tap dancer. I also enjoy walking and running, and am proud to have completed several half marathons.
Senior Nursery Practitioner
I joined Ashridge Nursery in January 2007, when my youngest son Henry was attending the Nursery. I completed my Level 2 qualification and then attained Early Years Professional Status at Reading University. I was also a Foster Carer which was very challenging with two young children of my own; all very different to being a Marketing and Administration Manager in the Motor Trade.
I love working at Ashridge Nursery, it is very rewarding seeing all the children grow and develop in their own unique ways.
In my spare time I love live music and attending festivals, swimming, running and generally being out in the fresh air. Another passion of mine is stained glass – I love being able to cut glass, melt metal and join it all up to create something beautiful!
I have worked at Ashridge for 15 years, and previously in my long career in childcare, I was a nanny to triplets for 4 years. I have also worked in a day nursery, playgroup, school and as a Homestart volunteer. My Husband and I have 8 children between us and 12 grandchildren so we are always very busy.
I like making cards and am also a Rock Choir member. I love camping and visiting National Trust houses and gardens. I’ve also been invited to Buckingham Palace 3 times!
I have worked at Ashridge Nursery for over twenty years. I trained at Chiltern Nursery Training College – graduating in 1986 with my NNEB qualification.
I am responsible for the book area at nursery. This is my favourite role, as I love books, and enjoy helping the children develop their interest and imagination through books and stories.
I joined Ashridge in 2014. I qualified as a Level 2 childcare Practitioner soon after and am currently studying for a Level 3 Qualification in Early Years.
Having spent time teaching Kindermusik and teaching dance and drama at local theatre schools, I realised just how rewarding it was to work with young children and to see them grow.
Away from the Nursery, I enjoy spending time with my family and spent 3.5 years living in Hong Kong before moving to Wokingham. I love to dance and have just dusted off my tap shoes to start tap classes again!
I joined the team at Ashridge in 2014 having previously been a member of the committee. I completed the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education and I oversee the Understanding the World section of Ashridge. I particularly enjoy organising science activities for the children.
I joined Ashridge Nursery in September 2020 after taking some time out of the profession to have my own children.
I love working in early years because I love watching children grow and learn in a happy, safe environment. My children attended Ashridge Nursery and both absolutely loved their time in the nursery as well as the practitioners.
In my spare time I enjoy going on walks with my family, taking my children to parks and having picnics.
I joined Ashridge Nursery in 2019 and enjoy being part of a team that helps children learn, grow and develop to their fullest potential and ability. No two days are the same and the role is extremely rewarding.
Outside of Nursery, I love spending time with my family. We love to be outside in the fresh air as much as possible, and have a passion for travel and holidays.
